  • Commemorated 100 years of community spirit by hosting the Ravinia Village House Centennial Celebration on November 22, 2013

  • Strengthened relationships with our schools through donation of the proceeds from our Centennial Celebration to the Ravinia School

  • Block Bash festivals held in September of 2011 and 2012 to celebrate our community

  • Created the "Neighbors Night Out" concept and held many fun such events at Ravinia merchants

  • Landscaping in Brown Park to screen the train station parking lot from Burton Avenue

  • Co-sponsored the Ravinia Holiday Festival in November 2010

  • Garden Walk in summer 2010 to showcase Ravinia residents' finest gardens

  • Held an Earth Day Festival in May 2008

  • Provided framework for the "Friends of Jens Jensen" to successfully accomplish the restoration of Jens Jensen Park

  • Assisted the development of and sponsored the Music at the Rock series

  • Accepted a grant from the Illinois EPA storm drain stencil project

  • Provided significant positive influence to the final facade designs of Walgreen's, Ravinia Park Place, and the Crossings

  • Sponsored fall Family/Childrens' events at Jens Jensen Park

  • Facilitated the placement of flowering planters in downtown Ravinia

  • Streetscape contest to encourage store-front beautification within the Ravinia Business District (RBD)

  • Facilitated the installation of a freestanding kiosk by the Ravinia train station

  • Prevented the placement of antenna clusters and cell towers near Ravinia School and Brown Park

  • Abetted the development of Gateway Park (corner of Lake Cook and Green Bay Roads)

  • Initiated the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Project, in 2005, to improve the streetscape of the business district along Roger Williams Avenue

  • Partnered with the Highland Park Historical Society to support its exhibit on the local Women's Club movement and highlight the contributions of the Ravinia Women's Club

  • Encouraging community support for new as well as current businesses in the Ravinia District using social media

  • Sponsor of the Ravinia Farmers Market annually

  • Supporter of Food Truck Thursdays @ Jens Jensen Park

  • Keeping the Ravinia District and its improvement needs in front of the City Council, City commissions and the Park District

  • Supporting local non-profits like the HP Historical Society, Moraine Township Food Pantry and the Community Partners for Affordable Housing.

  • Hosting community forums on hot topics like school referendums, new building designs and those issues affecting Ravinia households

  • Sponsorship of fun community events within Ravinia
