Are you confused about the City Council Elections?
Trying to understand why some candidates are running for two-year terms and others four-year terms? Hopefully this will help!
The term of office for the City Council is four years. This April there will be three open seats on the City Council. There are four candidates running for the three open seats. There are three incumbents running and one new candidate. The candidates running for the four-year seats are, in alphabetical order by last name:Dan Kaufman, incumbent
Alyssa Knobel, incumbent
Stan Lester, new candidate
Kim Stone, incumbentThis April there will also be one two-year seat open. Former city councilman, Paul Frank, vacated his council seat when he was elected to the Lake County Board. This vacancy created an open seat for the remainder of Frank’s term. All three candidates running for the two-year seat are new City Council candidates. In alphabetical order by last name:
Laure Saret
Davis Schneiderman
Adam StolbergIn the upcoming election, voters will be asked to vote for three candidates for the four-year terms and one candidate for the two-year term.
In addition to the City Council, there are candidates running for School Boards 112 and 113, as well as the Park District Board.
