Ravinia Neighbors Association Board Meeting
7:00 p.m. Monday, August 20
The RNA has scheduled a special Board Meeting for next Monday, August 20th at the home of Don Miller, 281 Woodland Avenue at 7:15 P.M. This meeting is being held prior to the Park District’s own board meeting (Thursday, August 23rd at 6:00 P.M. at the West Ridge Center, 636 Ridge Road) where they are expected to vote on the Rosewood Beach redesign.
The only items on our agenda for our meeting are ROSEWOOD BEACH and the 2012 BLOCK BASH. Thus far, the Park District has stuck to their stubborn guns and are continuing to insist on a strictly UP or DOWN vote, such vote being very potentially injurious to our avid desire to have an elegant redesigned beach for swimming and recreational purposes. We must formulate our game plan for that Thursday evening, August 23rd in the hopes that the Park District can finally be convinced that it’s in the best interests of ALL RESIDENTS OF HIGHLAND PARK to split off the contentious Interpretive Center from the rest of the Rosewood Beach redesign plan, tabling that decision until further research can be done, and then vote AYE on what all the residents really want.
So, please try your best to be present at both meetings and lend your voice and support to helping effect a resolution that works for the majority, NOT the minority!
NOTE: We encourage participants to keep their discourse short and to the point so our board meetings can be completed in about an hour. Please bring an extra copy of this agenda for any guests who may attend.
